Precise measurement of sound speed in hydrogel tissue-mimicking material by a through-transmission method

Abstract The water immersion through-transmission method is widely used owing to its simplicity and high precision in measuring sound speed. However, when the speed of a compound material whose host medium water, such as hydrogel tissue-mimicking (TMM), reproducibility reliability measurements obtained under state were found be low. To solve this problem, application contact transmission instead was examined study. Unlike method, direct-contact requires stability target stiffness, which difficult TMM hydrogels due their low-stiffness properties.
